Why use a Professional Photographer?
That's a good question! The time I spend with you on your wedding day creating your beautiful wedding collection is just a fraction of the total time I spend designing, editing, meeting with the two of you up until and after the wedding day, to give you your heart desire in your Preview collection and final Bridal Album! An 8 hour wedding will culminate in me spending more than 23 hours using my expertise. And, I have a lot of experience: 842 weddings to date. With all your planning, money and excitement of your wedding day it really is over in the blink of an eye. I capture those images forever!
Why are your prices higher than someone who's just starting out, like the photog that shot my cousins' wedding?
The 22 years experience owning this studio began with a degree in Photography, Graphic illustration, Design and Communication. Also as a National Kodak award winning photographer, I have worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a graphics photographer, the Kennedy Family for Kathleen Kennedy Townsend portraits, the CEO of Ford Mr. Mahauly, Two Maryland Governors, DuPont Corporation, and writing the curriculum, setting up and teaching B&W, color and advanced Photography for Chesapeake Community College for 9 years, and much more in the course of the history of this studio, Prints Charming Photography, which now solely caters to you two, my Brides and Grooms.
Is Bridal photography the only thing you do now?
Besides immensely enjoying wedding photography, each year I am beckoned to our beautiful North West California to teach digital camera workshops, all the while capturing more images for the stock portfolio!
What professional affiliations have accepted you as a member?
I am a member of Professional Photographers of America, the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce and Choptank Electric Co-op Connections, and an Artist In Residence at the Mendocino Art Center years 2006, 07, 08 & 09
Why are you telling me all of this information?
Because when you ask me to photograph your wedding, you won't be taking a chance. Just as you are sure you won't be taking a chance on your DJ, or Band, Caterer, Florist or Cake Designer, Makeup Artist, Bridal Gown and Seamstress, you just know they're going to get it right. And chances are, you were given my name by a friend or family member who just got married and is absolutely tickled with their pictures. 99% of the people who find me are referrals from very happy Brides and Grooms! I don't spend any money in advertising, I spend it in customer satisfaction. It doesn't leave my studio or my hands unless it's perfect and I know you're going to love it. I want you to be happy with me!
But really, can't anyone buy a really nice digital camera these days and learn to use it?
A pair of scissors costs just $1.50 at the drugstore, and you can even buy professional barbers shears for $100's. Still, most people will gladly pay a lot more to hire a professional hair sylist to cut & style their hair, especially for the most important day of their life!
